Treatment Objectives and Biomechanics
- Upper incisors retraction: Removal of the stimulus will usually resolve the malocclusion.
- Lower incisors proclination: Upper incisors should be retracted to allow for correct lip position.
- Space creation for retraction of upper incisors: via distalization, expansion, extraction, IPR and/or maintaining leeway space
- Space for proclining lower incisors: limited by the available alveolar bone in the mandibular symphysis.

- Habit correction: Hayrake, finger devices etc…….
- Lower lip trap correction: partial fixed banding, removable appliances etc.
