Suitable for ages: 12+ years old
Indications: Anterior open bite, reduced incisal display, increased incisor proclination, normodivergent or hypodivergent skeletal profile
Contraindications: Ideal or increased incisal display, Gummy smile, vertical maxillary excess, short upper lip, acquired orthodontic risks

  • Vertically erupt incisors to increase incisor overbite
  • Increase incisor display on smile and rest
  • Maintain facial height

Appliances / Treatment modalities

  • Clear aligners – effective for incisor extrusion and open bite patients (Houili et al. 2020, Robertson et al. 2019). Can be combined with anterior vertical elastics.
  • Fixed appliances – combined with anterior vertical elastics
