Indications: Severe mandibular skeletal retrognathia, severe skeletal Class II, severe dental Class II, patient not suitable for surgery or does not want surgical treatment options
Contraindications: Patient wants complete closure of incisor overjet
Treatment Objectives and Biomechanics
- Level and align dentition to the limitations of skeletal bases
- Only partial correction of the incisor overjet – due to lack of bone anterior to lower incisor roots and due to limits of retracting upper incisors without compromising facial balance
